Network Technician for Nyköping Municipality

Nyköping is growing, and digitalization within the municipality's operations is expanding rapidly. A prerequisite for this digitalization is access to modern network, storage, and communication solutions. Therefore, we need to strengthen our resources to develop and maintain our systems.

The position is located at the IT Department of the Municipal Executive Office, one of the central units in Nyköping Municipality. The IT Department is responsible for support, operations, administration, and development of the IT environments for both Nyköping and Oxelösund municipalities, and has coordination responsibility for system administration, e-education, and e-services.

One of the main strengths of our Network Technicians is their ability to provide technical solutions and rapid problem-solving. Our network team is accustomed to handling various types of challenges, from simple troubleshooting to more complex communication issues, and they do so with precision and professionalism.

You enjoy working both individually and as part of a team. You are well aware of the importance of processes, security, and documentation. You are receptive and equipped with strong drive. It comes naturally to you to see opportunities for efficiency and improvement, and you have a burning technical interest. You likely have experience in the administration and development of LAN/WAN/WLAN, and we would appreciate it if you have previously driven various change projects. Some system administration is included in the job responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• Class B driver's license
• Upper secondary education (high school diploma)
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with complex network environments.
• Good knowledge of designing IT infrastructure solutions and knowledge of LAN, WAN, and network architecture.
• Good knowledge of working with IP-based networks, understanding of functionality and configuration of Cisco routers and Cisco switches, or equivalent products.
• Knowledge within Linux/Unix environments, scripting/programming, DNA-Center, IT security, firewalls, VPN, log management, Python, wireless infrastructure, ACL, Netscaler, and ISE.
• Experience with thorough and detailed documentation.

Relevant education and certifications are meritorious.
