Special Needs Teacher at Södra Skolan in Kalmar
Södra Skolan i Kalmar ABKalmar län, Kalmar
Previous experience is desired
Södra Skolan in Kalmar is a centrally located independent primary school covering grades F–9 as well as an after-school center, with approximately 390 students. Our focus areas are emotional intelligence (EQ) and sports, aiming to help every student become the best version of themselves – strength comes from within!
The most important resource at Södra Skolan is our educators, student health team, and other staff. We are a proud organization that enjoys working together, are qualified, professional, and focused on ensuring every student feels included and seen.
Södra Skolan was founded in 2006 and is part of the CIS group, along with Västraskolan, Östra Skolan on Öland, and CIS Upper Secondary School. The group also includes the preschools Västanvind and Sunnanvind.
We are now looking for a special needs teacher (specialpedagog) to join our team. The role primarily involves special pedagogical tasks with elements of teaching. You will work directly with students, but also contribute to assessments and investigations, compiling appropriate documentation. You will be part of the Student Health Team and collaborate with the school leadership. You will also have overall responsibility for the smaller teaching groups.
In your role as a special needs teacher, you conduct assessments of students' strengths and needs, plan interventions, and suggest suitable strategies, methods, and tools. You mentor teachers and other staff in their daily work with students requiring support, and conduct classroom observations. You are responsible for ensuring that pedagogical assessments and action plans are developed in collaboration with mentors. As a special needs teacher, you are a key resource in follow-up, evaluation, and the development of our routines and structures. You work systematically to improve goal achievement and have responsibility for documentation. You have overall responsibility for students who do not meet the knowledge requirements and monitor the support these students receive. Your role also includes contact with guardians and external actors.
The position covers the F–9 perspective with a focus on F–6.
Education in Logos and/or Itpa3 is an advantage.
We look forward to receiving your application!
