Description

We are now looking for a student assistant, 80 % fixed-term, at Jämtlands Gymnasium Wargentin (Social Sciences Programme Flex) starting August 10, 2026. There is an opportunity for extension provided the student remains with us.

Your future responsibilities

In the role of student assistant, you work to enable the student's participation in teaching and the school environment based on individual needs related to visual impairment. You work closely with teaching teachers and the student health team, supporting the student both pedagogically and practically during the school day.

The assignment includes, among other things, adapting materials and working methods in consultation with teachers, supporting the student during lessons, exam situations, and other school activities, as well as contributing to the student's ability to use digital aids and other compensatory tools effectively. If needed, you also provide support with mobility and orientation. An important part of the job is strengthening the student's independence and creating a sense of security in the school environment. The programme is aimed at students who face challenges in the larger school environment.

You have the ability to work independently while thriving in close collaboration with colleagues, as you will be part of a small work team where cooperation is a natural part of the job.

Previous experience working with students with visual impairments is meritorious.
