Resource Teacher Assistant – Fixed-term Position

The Child and Education Administration in Vimmerby Municipality is responsible for all pedagogical activities, from preschool to university level, and is also responsible for Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) and societal orientation for newly arrived refugees. Our common goal is that Vimmerby Municipality's children and young people should get the best possible conditions to meet the future and develop into creative, curious, and secure individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a resource, you support the teacher in teaching and contribute to a safe and structured learning environment. You help students individually or in small groups, clarify instructions, and support them in working quietly, structuring their work, and study techniques. The role also includes preparing materials, handling digital tools, and providing support during breaks, transitions, and other school situations. You are an important part of creating order, study quiet, and an inclusive daily life for the students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a trained teacher in leisure-time centers/teacher assistant or alternatively a childcare worker, or who have several years of experience in similar work that we assess as equivalent. We would like you to have previous experience working with children in need of special support.

You are open, attentive, and calm in your interaction with others, which contributes to you creating good and trusting relationships with both students and adults. You relate to others in a listening and flexible way and have the ability to adapt your communication in a clear and pedagogical way based on the recipient's needs or the current situation.

Furthermore, we see that you are a person who collaborates well with others. You view relationships from the right perspective and have the ability to distinguish between the personal and professional in work. You thus contribute to creating an open and non-hierarchical collaborative climate where challenges can be solved in an effective way and where everyone takes joint responsibility for achieving set goals. You are active and forward-looking in your work and are happy to contribute thoughts and ideas that can be put into practice and that lead to the development of both daily work and the operations as a whole.
