Responsibilities

In the role of Study and Career Counselor, you are responsible for guiding students in grade 9 (F9). Your overarching goal is to strengthen students' decision-making competence, promote good student health, and challenge prejudices regarding future choices. The work is varied and combines individual guidance through motivational conversations about future plans and study techniques with group guidance and teaching about the labor market, professions, and the education system.

You play a key role in the upper secondary school selection process for grades 8-9, where you inform about educational pathways, eligibility requirements, and handle the associated administration. The assignment also includes planning, organizing, and following up on students' work experience placements (PRAO), which is done in close collaboration with the responsible teacher. The role requires a high degree of collaboration, meaning ongoing communication with guardians as well as close cooperation with school staff, other upper secondary schools, and the local business community. Finally, you contribute to the school's strategic development by actively participating in the Student Health Team (EHT) and revising the local study and career counseling plan.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you have a university degree from the Study and Career Counseling Program. You have good digital competence and communicate well both verbally and in writing. It is highly meritorious if you have previous experience as a SYV (Study and Career Counselor) within primary/lower secondary school or possess good knowledge of the specific tasks of lower secondary school regarding study and career counseling.

As a person, you are relationship-building and have a natural ability to build trust with students, colleagues, and guardians. You work in a structured manner and have the drive to move processes forward independently. Since the role involves many contact points, you have strong collaboration skills, are communicative, and can easily adapt your message to different target groups.

Employment Terms

• Salary: Monthly salary.

• Working Hours: Daytime. Participation in parent-teacher meetings is included in the role.
