Vikingaskolan is looking for a Leisure-Time Centre Teacher with qualifications in Physical Education and Health

We are now seeking an engaged leisure-time centre teacher for the upcoming school year, with qualifications to teach physical education and health. The position may also involve a responsibility for the school's recess pedagogy.

Information about the school

Vikingaskolan is located in central Haninge, with close access to green areas, cultural offerings, and public transport. Approximately 700 students will attend the school this autumn. The school offers school and leisure-time activities from preschool class to year 3, as well as school activities and a leisure-time club for students in years 4–6. Each year group is divided into teams that jointly take responsibility for the students' development and learning.

Vikingaskolan's vision is:

A safe school focused on learning where every student gains confidence in their own abilities!

Your Role

As a leisure-time centre teacher with us, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and stimulating environment for our students throughout the school day. You will plan and implement pedagogical activities within the leisure-time centre and act as a strong and clear leader capable of guiding both colleagues and student groups.

Together with your colleagues, you will design a positive, enjoyable, and varied school day with student learning at the forefront. You will be part of a team where close collaboration and cooperation are central to the role.

During school hours, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in physical education and health, with a focus on recess activities. This role involves developing a meaningful, inclusive, and active recess program in collaboration with colleagues, promoting safety, joy in movement, and social community.

Qualifications

You must have a teacher's degree with a focus on leisure-time centres, as well as qualifications to teach physical education and health.

You have the ability to build good and secure relationships with students and are well-versed in the school's governing documents. You are a clear leader who can combine warmth and structure, set clear boundaries, and simultaneously show great confidence in every student's ability to develop.

You use varied methods and approaches based on students' needs and knowledge levels. You set high but reasonable demands and create the best possible conditions for each student to succeed.

You easily build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You are flexible, solution-focused, and always consider the best interests of the operation. You value collaboration and see the value in collegial learning and joint development.

Experience in recess pedagogy or organized recess activities is an advantage.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability when appointing the position.

What We Offer

We offer a developing work environment together with a competent and engaged staff group and school leadership. In this role, you will have the opportunity for continuous professional development alongside other employees in a collective learning setting.

The operations take place in newly built premises that have been in use since the autumn term of 2018.

Conditions

In this recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.

We look forward to receiving your application!
