Team Leader for Swimming and Camping Operations

Vallmobadet is a popular and family-friendly indoor swimming pool in Kolbäck that attracts visitors of all ages. A varied operation is carried out here, including school swimming, baby swimming, swimming lessons, and various types of water training.

Skantzö Bad- & Camping is one of the most popular family campsites in the Mälardalen region and offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool in a nature-friendly environment.

Job Responsibilities

As a team leader placed in the operation as a swimming and camping host, you have a central role in the daily operations and work closely with both guests and colleagues to create a safe and welcoming environment. The position combines operational work as a swimming and camping host with responsibility for team leadership and coordination. The distribution is approximately 60% work in daily operations and 40% team leadership tasks.

As a swimming and camping host, your most important task is to provide our guests with a positive, safe, and professional reception throughout their stay. You are an important part of the guest experience and contribute to the smooth and safe functioning of the operation. The duties include among other things:

• Staffing reception, cash register, and café, as well as welcoming guests.
• Responsible for safety in the swimming operation.
• Perform cleaning and contribute to a clean and pleasant environment.
• Lead activities such as water aerobics and baby swimming.
• Assist with swimming school and other activities.
• Check water values.

In the role of team leader, you are responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating the daily work within the operation. You act as a support for employees and as a link between the staff group and the unit manager. Your team leadership tasks include among other things:

• Daily planning and coordination of the operation.
• Mentoring and introduction of substitutes and new staff.
• Lead and hold coordination meetings.
• Follow-up and evaluation of the operation.
• Provide support in the recruitment process.
• Follow up on safety work.
• Scheduling and staffing planning.
• Administrative tasks related to the operation.

Working hours are scheduled on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and major holidays based on the needs of the operation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience from any of the following operations:

• Documented experience working in a swimming hall or swimming facility, for example as a swimming teacher, water training instructor, or swimming host.
• Or experience from the hospitality and service industry such as camping, hotels, travel operations, or similar.

In addition to this, we see that you have at least two years of experience in leading, coordinating, and distributing work in a staff group.

You have completed upper secondary education and training or certification in at least one of the following areas:

• Swimming instructor (Badmästare).
• Swimming teacher.
• Water training instructor.
• Personal trainer.

Good swimming skills and knowledge of lifesaving are required for the position. You need to be able to perform and pass the swimming, diving, and lifesaving tests associated with the operation.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Leadership training.
• Education within the hotel and tourism program or other equivalent education.
• Public health science education.

As a person, you are confident, responsible, and service-oriented. You have the ability to motivate and create engagement among your colleagues and work in a structured and solution-oriented manner. The role also requires good communication skills and experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously. The operation works continuously with evaluation and improvement to match the current demand, which means you need to thrive in environments that are continuously developing.

You have good digital competence and are quick to learn different systems and administrative tools, for example for scheduling, personnel administration, and operation follow-up.

Since the operation meets many children and young people, a certificate of good conduct from the police is required before employment can be offered.
