National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS) is now looking for 1–2 additional software developers. We are a national infrastructure whose purpose is to provide support for bioinformaticians and researchers in the life sciences. The software development group consists of two Scrum teams that develop tools for large-scale data management and web applications for research groups and EU-funded projects, all within the field of bioinformatics.

Being part of one of our teams gives you the opportunity to make a difference by working on projects whose goal is to make research data secure and shareable. You will be employed at Uppsala University, at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology (ICM), and affiliated with NBIS and Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab). Job Description

As a software developer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a sharing platform for human genomics data from research projects, in collaboration with our partners in other European countries. Bigpicture is another European flagship project aiming to build a Petabyte-scale platform for AI in digital pathology. Our collaboration partners come from academia as well as healthcare and industry.

You will work closely with other developers in one of our Scrum teams and contribute to the aforementioned projects. The Scrum team is responsible for the entire lifecycle of the products, from planning and development to deployment and maintenance. You will be part of a team that values creativity and welcomes your input in influencing decisions within the group.

Work Culture

At NBIS, we encourage continuous learning and personal development, which means we allocate time for you to participate in relevant courses or engage in self-study.
