About the Role

Olink - Part of Thermo Fisher Scientific has grown explosively in recent years and has made its mark worldwide in a short time. Their groundbreaking products are today used by leading research institutes and pharmaceutical companies to drive the next major breakthrough in medicine. With headquarters and a service lab in both Uppsala and Boston, Olink is a truly global player in Life Science. Here, technology is developed and used to gain new understanding of complex diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders, research that can truly change people's lives.

In the role of IT Technician, you will be a central part of daily IT support and serve as an important contact point for the organization's users. You will assist colleagues with everything from account management, onboarding, and offboarding to troubleshooting hardware and software. You will also work with conference room equipment and other IT-related matters. The work is varied and combines practical on-site support with case management in Jira, where you are responsible for receiving, prioritizing, resolving, or escalating cases in a professional and service-oriented manner.

In addition to ongoing support, you will be part of a larger integration project related to the merger with Thermo Fisher Scientific. The project involves the gradual integration of service desk, client management, infrastructure, and IT processes between the organizations. However, you will primarily focus on the operational support activities while contributing to ensuring a smooth transition for users during the integration journey.

You will become part of a competent and tightly knit team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and helpfulness are at the center. The role involves many contact points, both locally and internationally, and you will collaborate daily with colleagues within IT and the business in both Uppsala and Boston, as well as other parts of the world. Together, you will work to ensure a stable and well-functioning IT environment and provide users with fast and professional support.

This is a consultancy assignment, meaning you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Olink. The assignment is full-time and initially runs until the end of October 2025. There may be an opportunity for extension, provided there is room for it and all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

Responsibilities

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Be the first point of contact for users and handle incoming IT-related cases
  • Work with onboarding and offboarding of users
  • Manage and follow up on cases in Jira
  • Perform troubleshooting of both software and hardware
  • Provide support regarding Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID
  • Staff IT support on-site and help users both physically and via tickets
  • Handle conference room equipment and AV-related questions
  • Collaborate with Service Desk colleagues in the USA and internal infrastructure specialists
  • Handle simpler network and infrastructure-related questions
  • Escalate more complex cases to the correct function
  • Participate in daily check-ins and contribute to the team's continuous improvement work

We are looking for you who

  • Have post-secondary education in IT, technology, or equivalent experience assessed as comparable
  • Have previous experience working in a service desk or IT support
  • Have good knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and user administration
  • Have a basic understanding of networks and network-related troubleshooting
  • Have experience with simpler troubleshooting of both hardware and software
  • Have experience supporting users regarding AV equipment and conference room technology
  • Have very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as this is required to perform the work

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have

  • Experience with remote support tools
  • Experience with macOS
  • Basic knowledge of Android and Apple devices
  • Experience from the Life Science industry or other regulated operations

As a person, you are service-oriented, solution-focused, and enjoy helping others. You are curious and dare to take initiative to troubleshoot and drive cases forward, while also having a good ability to prioritize in an environment where the pace is sometimes high. Furthermore, you are responsible and collaborate easily with both colleagues and users, both nationally and internationally. A genuine interest in technology and a desire to constantly learn new things will be important success factors in the role.

  • Start: Immediately (max 1 month notice period)
  • Scope: Full-time, office hours (on-site work every day)

  • Other: To be eligible for the assignment, you must be able to work throughout July
