About the workplace

Kvarnbäcksskolan is a preschool to grade 6 school with approximately 270 students and around 40 dedicated employees. Here, students and families from many different parts of the world meet, which shapes our work and our view on teaching and interaction. We work consciously with language and knowledge development, focusing on inclusion and strong relationships.

The school is located in a socio-economically challenging area, which means we place great importance on creating a safe, structured, and predictable learning environment where all students are given the opportunity to succeed. Our operations are characterized by collaboration, clarity, and high expectations.

After an extensive renovation during the 2023–2024 school year, we now offer bright, modern, and functional premises that support both teaching and after-school activities. As an employee here, you become part of a collegium where we share a common responsibility for the students' entire day.

Your role

As a permanent substitute teacher (husvikarie), you are an important part of the school's daily operations and contribute to continuity, security, and stability for the students.

The role includes:

• substituting in classes during regular teaching hours
• working in the after-school center as needed
• quickly adapting to different groups and situations
• building good relationships with students and contributing to a safe and positive learning environment
• collaborating with teachers, after-school staff, and other employees

You function as a secure adult in the operations and contribute to ensuring that teaching and the students' day run as smoothly as possible, even in the event of absence.

What we are looking for in you

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or after-school setting
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing

It is important that you are a person who builds trust and relationships with both students and colleagues. In this role, you need to be flexible and able to adapt to different situations and tasks with short notice, while maintaining calm and structure.

You need to have good collaboration skills as you meet many different colleagues and student groups during the day. A solution-focused approach is crucial for handling the variations and challenges the role entails. We also value that you are clear, responsible, and contribute to a positive work climate.

The position is a fixed-term employment until October 23rd, with the possibility of extension.

Working hours: 07:50–16:15 (can be adjusted based on operational needs).
