About the Workplace
Krungårdsskolan in Blomstermåla is a preschool class to grade 9 school with approximately 280 students and also includes adapted primary school.
At Krungårdsskolan, we work with Challenging Learning – a joint pedagogical initiative and approach in Mönsterås Municipality's preschools and primary schools. The initiative has five focus areas: dialogue, feedback, transitions, challenges, and mindset. The goal is to create teaching that strengthens students' thinking, creativity, and curiosity, makes them more aware of their own learning, and contributes to increased goal achievement.
At Krungårdsskolan, there is a clear commitment to both safety, participation, and the students' development also outside the classroom. To develop this, the school works with the TL/Well-being Program as a pedagogical tool for increased activity, safety, and structure during breaks, where the break is used to promote physical activity and simultaneously give students tools within leadership and inclusion.
The school is also part of CultureCrew Kalmar County, where students in grades 4–9 are trained and supported in the role as cultural organizers within the framework of the school's regular operations. This strengthens the students' participation and influence and contributes to the development of culture's position in the school over time.
Job Responsibilities
The assignment involves overall work as a special educator combined with close work together with students and educators in everyday life. Some examples of what is included in the assignment:
- Supervision of teachers and work teams.
- Development of accessible learning environments.
- Social and pedagogical support in the classroom or smaller groups.
- Pedagogical mapping and investigations as well as action plans.
- Promoting and preventive student health work, extra adaptations, and special support.
- Collaboration with guardians and external actors.
- Collaboration with the school's other special teachers/special educators.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a special educator degree and teacher certification with relevant eligibility. You create trusting relationships with young people while contributing strategically to the school's work with accessible and inclusive learning environments. You see the value in working preventively, supervising, and close to the students, and have experience of student health work and collaboration in the student health team (EHT).
You support and supervise staff in the pedagogical work, have good knowledge of extra adaptations, special support, and pedagogical investigations, and work in a structured and solution-focused manner. With a good approach, you build strong relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have a burning interest in school development and an inclusive working method where all students' opportunities for learning are in focus, as well as the ability to create motivation among students with low school attendance or weak goal achievement. An important assignment will also be to provide support in the transition to upper secondary school.
