About the workplace

Krungårdsskolan in Blomstermåla is a preschool to grade 9 school with approximately 280 students and also includes special needs education (adapted comprehensive school) for grades 1-9.

At Krungårdsskolan, we work with Challenging Learning – a joint pedagogical initiative and approach in Mönsterås Municipality's preschools and primary schools. The initiative has five focus areas: dialogue, feedback, transitions, challenges, and mindset. The goal is to create teaching that strengthens students' thinking, creativity, and curiosity, makes them more aware of their own learning, and contributes to increased goal achievement.

At Krungårdsskolan, there is a clear commitment to both safety, participation, and students' development also outside the classroom. To develop this, the school works with the TL/Wellbeing Program as a pedagogical tool for increased activity, safety, and structure during recesses, where recess is used to promote physical activity and simultaneously give students tools within leadership and inclusion.

The school is also part of CultureCrew Kalmar County, where students in grades 4–9 are trained and supported in the role as organizers of culture within the framework of the school's regular operations. This strengthens students' participation and influence and contributes to the development of culture's position in the school over time.

Job Responsibilities

The assignment includes planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in Social Studies (SO) in grades 6 to 9, as well as Social Studies in the adapted comprehensive school's middle school group. Mentoring is included for all teachers. You belong to the middle school's work team. It is important that you can adapt the teaching based on the students' needs and prerequisites and collaborate with colleagues, student health services, and guardians to promote students' learning and development. You assess and document students' knowledge development based on current regulatory documents.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in all Social Studies subjects and have an inclusive and relationship-building approach to work. You are flexible and confident in adapting the teaching based on the students' needs. Experience of teaching within adapted comprehensive school is meritorious.

You are engaged, structured, and have good collaboration and communication skills. You have an interest in school development and see it as a given to develop both your own teaching and contribute to achieving the school's goals.
