In the autumn of 2017, Ebba Braheskolan opened its doors on Kvarnholmen. Our vision is to provide world-class education driven by a passion for learning, giving our students the best knowledge development in Sweden. We cater to students from preschool class (förskoleklass) up to grade 9.

We are now looking for a House Substitute Teacher (Husvikarie) at 75% to join our fantastic team.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary school with very good results. Proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is essential, as are solid mathematical skills.

Previous experience working with children is advantageous, as is experience in leading and facilitating group activities for children, such as in school camps, summer camps, sports clubs, scouting, leisure time activities, or community organizations.

The ideal candidate is curious and open-minded, thriving in collaboration with both students and colleagues. You are positive, collaborative, and skilled at building strong relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We highly value teamwork, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Being a clear leader with a big heart is second nature to you. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Your Responsibilities

As a House Substitute Teacher, you will teach all subjects in preschool class through grade 9 when the regular teacher is absent. It is important that you follow instructions, are punctual, and respond to emails promptly. Good attendance is crucial; therefore, having a reference that demonstrates your reliability and attendance record in school or previous workplaces is advantageous.

The School and Kvarnholmen

The school is located on Kvarnholmen, close to forests and the sea. Although Kvarnholmen is primarily associated with industry, the area consists largely of archipelago nature. On the eastern tip of the island, right next to the school, the existing green area is currently being developed into an oasis with activities and recreational opportunities.

There are good transport links to Kvarnholmen. You can reach the island by bus from Slussen in approximately 15 minutes, or by boat from Nybroplan or Lidingö (approx. 20 minutes).
