Description

As a field secretary in Värnamo Municipality, you work preventively, proactively, and relationally to improve the upbringing conditions for young people. The assignment is to contribute to fewer young people falling into social difficulties, mental health issues, or risky environments, and to identify needs and signals early on so that action can be taken in good time.

The work is based on Värnamo Municipality's vision of being the human growth municipality, where every individual counts and is seen as an asset. The operations are permeated by the municipality's values, focusing on sustainability, attractiveness, security, and pride, as well as long-term perspective, participation, tolerance, and integration.

The work group consists of 5 field secretaries with the main target group being young people between the ages of 12–18.

Responsibilities

The position involves being present in the arenas where young people are found. For example, at school, in leisure activities, or in outdoor environments where young people gather. This is to get to know as many young people as possible, but also to be able to offer extended support to those in need. Field secretaries are to be a positive force for children and young people. They are expected to be able to communicate and act on-site, as well as to conduct structured conversations individually or in groups. In your work, you will also have contact with guardians in various contexts. You will also be part of the municipality's TSI work and participate in various types of collaboration projects for the benefit of children and young people, within the municipality's operations but also with leisure clubs and voluntary organizations.

Evening and weekend duty occurs.

Qualifications

You need to have a degree in social work or education at the university level that the employer considers equivalent. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with young people.

We are looking for someone who finds it easy to talk to and connect with young people. As a person, you have empathetic abilities and are confident in yourself. Furthermore, you need to be a responsible, structured, and flexible person. This is because the conditions for your work sometimes change with short notice. You have good collaboration skills and can work both independently and in a group.

We see an interest in youth culture as fundamental for working as a field secretary. This is to explore new contexts where young people gather, which can be subcultures or arenas on the internet.

Respect, participation, and collaboration are our keywords. As a person, you are stable and contribute to a positive work climate. You have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.

A driver's license is required.
