The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also executes closed youth care at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us offers a challenging and exciting career where you, regardless of your role or location, contribute to life-changing changes.
SiS Youth Home Långanäs receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse.
Job Description
As a Treatment Assistant, you work in a team together with treatment educators and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people (non-compulsory school-age boys) living at the home receive the safety, care, and treatment they need.
We often meet people in crisis, which means your work involves qualified nursing and motivational work, as well as providing support in daily life. Using your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is a key part of your job, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You ensure that safety is maintained according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with activities such as school attendance, cleaning, and cooking.
Case management is also one of your duties. The role may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, which permeates our attitude, engagement, and approach.
In the recruitment films linked below, you can follow the lives of three fictional characters before they came to SiS, and see how destructiveness is replaced by calm, a functioning daily life, and hope for a different future: https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/nationell-rekryteringssatsning/rekryteringsfilmer/ (https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/nationell-rekryteringssatsning/rekryteringsfilmer/)
Qualifications

- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be oriented towards social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
