The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also operates closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS offers you a thrilling challenge. SiS LVM-hem Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest setting just outside Mariannelund, receives men with alcohol, drug, or polydrug abuse. We have specialized competence in receiving clients with mental health issues or aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to help make a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the position of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people/clients towards new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our clients, and handle the basics of daily life such as cleaning, cooking, etc. You help maintain order and security on the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to our clients receiving the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: days, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be oriented towards social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., within psychiatry, residential care (HVB), or healthcare and social services.
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

Employment:
The position is a full-time temporary assignment until 2027-05-16 with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement.
