Habo Pastorate, located on the shores of Lake Vättern approximately 15 km northwest of Jönköping, consists of three active and well-functioning parishes with many meeting places for both children and adults.

Habo is an expanding municipality with well-developed local services and opportunities to live a good life close to nature and outdoor recreation. Many child-rearing families live in our municipality, which has a population of approximately 13,700, of whom about 8,400 are members of the Church of Sweden. In the pastorate, which includes the parishes of Habo, Gustav Adolf, and Brandstorp, we work as a team of 26 employees. Our work is carried out around four churches and one chapel.

In our newly renovated Church House in Habo, there are new, functional offices and parish premises.

You have the drive to work independently but will also collaborate closely with a deaconess assistant and the parish's other employees and volunteers to develop the diaconal work. In Habo Pastorate, we are facing new, exciting challenges as we enter a phase of innovative thinking and development.

Are you applying for the position of Deacon? You must be ordained as a deacon in the Church of Sweden.

Are you applying for the position of Deaconess Assistant? We would prefer that you wish to study to become a deacon in the future.

Who are we looking for?

• Previous experience in diaconal work in the Church of Sweden is meritorious.
• You are well-grounded in the faith, confession, and doctrine of the Church of Sweden.
• You are a member of the Church of Sweden and share its values.
• You have a commitment to voluntary membership.
• You can meet people of all ages, as you will work with both children and the elderly.
• You can use digital tools and communicate easily in both speech and writing.
• You have an aptitude for creating and developing relationships and working towards set goals.
• You are responsible, structured, and have good teamwork skills.
• You have a B driver's license and access to a car.
