Working for Save the Children is about making a difference. As an employee of Save the Children, you know that your work contributes to making the world a better place for children and young people. You are surrounded by engaged colleagues who share common values. Here, you have the privilege of both developing and being challenged.
Region South is one of four regions in Save the Children's Swedish program. In the region, engaged employees work with activities for children, young people, and parents, as well as support for elected officials and volunteers. Your team is Småland, so you will have close colleagues not only in Jönköping County but also in Kronoberg and Kalmar Counties. The wonderful team consists of various roles such as project manager, process manager, activity leader, business developer, and group manager. As an Activity Leader, you will primarily work in projects and direct support activities in Kronoberg County, based in Värnamo. You will work with children and adults, facilitating group and individual support for children, young people, and families. Examples of activities may include breakfast clubs at schools, parental support, and movement-based activities with children and families. You will work within one or more of the areas: migration, violence, socio-economic vulnerability, and carry out interventions based on the target group's needs. In your role, you will collaborate closely with process or project managers. The position will involve travel and, to a greater extent, varied working hours.
Areas of responsibility may include:
Collaborate with other actors and the member movement in carrying out activities with children and parents.
Activities with children, young people, and parents at the individual or group level.
Contribute to documentation for follow-up and impact measurement.
Contribute to ongoing quality assurance by highlighting participants' needs and voices to the process or project manager.
Contribute to method development of the intervention by participating in evaluations.
To succeed in the role, we see that you, as an applicant, have the following qualifications:
Relevant education or experience related to the assignment.
Experience working directly with children and/or families.
Familiarity with Swedish civil society and association life.
Ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
Digital literacy and knowledge of the Office suite.
Interest in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and work based on human rights.
Category B driver's license and access to a car.
Meritorious experience includes:
Language skills in languages other than Swedish and English.
Experience working with children and families.
A broad local network, e.g., in civil society and the public sector.
Experience with documentation and presentation techniques.
As a person, you have an egalitarian approach in your collaboration with others and act as part of the team, including others. You have understanding for others' situations, listen, and show consideration. Furthermore, you are trustworthy and create trust while spreading calm and stability. Additionally, you are quick to find alternative solutions to emerging problems.
At Save the Children, we are proud of our shared values that unite and guide us in our important work.
