Your new job

As a school social worker (skolkurator), you contribute a psychosocial perspective to the student health service's work in promoting health and prevention. You will participate in the analysis, evaluation, and planning of initiatives regarding values, equal treatment, attendance, crisis management, and ANDTS (Alcohol, Narcotics, Doping, Tobacco, and other Steroids).

You will participate in the school's safety team, attendance team, and the municipality's network group where collaboration occurs between several municipal administrations, as well as in collaboration groups for school social workers within the compulsory school.

We would like you to work with broad interventions for classes, groups, guardians, and school staff on various themes such as values, mental health, and relationships.

You will conduct school social investigations and absence investigations, and offer counseling with a psychosocial purpose related to the school situation. You help identify students who are at risk of harm or show signs of mental ill-health, and if necessary, file a report with the social services.

The position is located at Ljungarumsskolan 7–9 in southern Jönköping. The school has approximately 480 students distributed across grades 7–9. Ljungarumsskolan includes communication classes designed for students with atypical language development.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work (sociologist) and good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Basic IT skills are also required for the position.

You have a good understanding of social work within the school context and possess knowledge of social legislation as well as psychosocial factors and their significance for students' health, learning, and development. You have competence in counseling methods, interdisciplinary collaboration, and knowledge of society's welfare system as well as the situation of children and young people in society.

Previous experience of working in schools, especially with students in lower secondary school, is meritorious.
