About the Role

As an employee at Gislaved Municipality, you are a co-creator in your workplace. You are given the opportunity and expected to contribute to the development of the operations through your knowledge and experience. At our workplace, respect for differences and the equal value of all people are fundamental.

Do you want a job where you make a difference every day for children, young people, and families?

We are now looking for a therapist/counselor for our outpatient care activities within child and family services. Here, you will have a varied and meaningful assignment where you work on psychosocial change work, parental support, and treatment interventions together with children, young people, and their families. You will become part of a competent work group with great commitment, broad competence, and good opportunities for supervision and development.

The Unit for Prevention and Interventions, Child and Family, consists of 23 dedicated employees. We work with both preventive measures and outpatient interventions. The unit includes counselors at the family center, parental support counselors, a counselor at the youth clinic, therapists at Ung Individ, SSPF coordinators, a school social team, and ten therapists working with needs-assessed interventions for children and young people aged 0–20.

We work from a systemic and solution-focused approach and believe in the power of collaboration, both within our own operations and together with other actors. Here, you will become part of a workplace characterized by trust, development, and a genuine commitment to the best interests of children and families.

Responsibilities

As a therapist, you work on psychosocial change work together with children, young people, and their families. Your task is to strengthen the individual's and the family's own abilities, resources, and strategies to create sustainable changes.

The work includes, among other things:

  • supporting and strengthening parenthood
  • promoting good communication and relationships within the family
  • conducting support conversations and treatment work with children, young people, adults, families, and groups
  • working with young people and young adults with risky use, harmful use, or addiction issues
  • providing support to relatives
  • offering advice and support contacts without a needs assessment decision
  • working proactively and relationship-building
  • collaborating with networks, schools, healthcare (including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - BUP), and other collaborating actors
  • documenting interventions through journal notes and implementation plans
  • working with structured treatment methods and an evidence-based approach

The position is broad and flexible, meaning tasks and target groups may vary based on operational needs and your competence.

The work is performed both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. Evening and weekend work may occur depending on operational needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work, behavioral science education, education as a treatment pedagogue or social pedagogue, or other education that the employer considers equivalent.

We would like you to have experience working with children, young people, and families within social services, outpatient care, or similar operations.

It is meritorious if you have education or experience in areas such as:

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Repulse
  • A-CRA
  • HAP
  • COPE
  • Functional Family Therapy (FFT)
  • Circle of Security
  • Domestic Violence

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

As a person, you find it easy to build trusting relationships and meet people with respect, sensitivity, and professionalism. You work in a structured and independent manner, while also appreciating collaboration and contributing to a good work climate. You are flexible and can adapt your working methods based on the individual's and the operation's needs.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

What We Offer

At our workplace, you get:

  • a meaningful and developing job where you make a real difference for children, young people, and families
  • a dedicated work group with high competence and strong cohesion
  • external supervision and good opportunities for competence development
  • a varied assignment with several target groups and treatment methods
  • the opportunity to participate in developing the operations
  • paid vacation from the first year of employment
  • some possibility of remote work when the operation allows
  • free entry to the municipality's swimming pools
  • free parking at the workplace

The employment is a fixed-term contract for one year due to leave of absence for a permanent employee. Possibility of extension exists, and the employment may, based on operational needs and conditions, convert to a permanent position.

Follow-up recruitment may take place.

Your role as an employee is deeply linked to your ability to collaborate and participate in the development of yourself and the operations. Here, this means you have good collaboration with managers and colleagues, both at your own workplace and within the rest of the municipal group. You treat everyone with a high level of service, kindness, and high quality through a customer- and service focus. You take responsibility for involving yourself in operational issues and are solution-oriented.

We apply register checks (extract from the criminal record) as part of the suitability assessment for all offered positions in operations where there is direct and regular contact with children and young people.

Do you want to be part of our success? Send us your application!

At Gislaved Municipality, full-time is a right, and therefore vacant positions are advertised as full-time. When the operation can accommodate part-time, it is of course an option. Positions shorter than 3 months and certain roles may be exempted. In connection with the recruitment process, Gislaved Municipality has taken a stance on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore explicitly decline contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
