The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest administrations with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of preschool, primary school, and child and student health services, we are here for children and students – together we shape the future.

Hagaskolan is a multicultural and multilingual F-9 school (approx. 440 students) in central Varberg. We drive active development work focusing on teachers' leadership, differentiated instruction, and inclusion. We have relatively small student groups and a strong collaboration within the teaching teams and between school and after-school care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to be a key person in the work of creating an inclusive school where every student has the opportunity to succeed? As a special educator or special teacher with us, you are a central part of the school's student health team. You collaborate closely with the principal, special teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement measures that strengthen students' knowledge development and well-being.

With us, we primarily work on promoting and preventive efforts where we together create the best possible meeting for learning. By mentoring and collaborating with teachers, you contribute to developing the quality of teaching and creating structures that last over time. With us, communication and trust are fundamental, and we value an environment characterized by security, joy, and understanding.

This is a project employment for the school year 2026/2027.

Your assignment involves supporting, inspiring, and creating quality throughout our operations by:

  • Mentoring and supporting teaching teams and individual educators at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
  • Conducting and documenting pedagogical investigations and drawing up and evaluating action plans together with teachers.
  • Working with school-wide assignments where special pedagogical competence is needed to develop student health competence.
  • Coordinating measures regarding student cases and collaborating with EHT (Student Health Team) in mentoring situations.
  • Working directly with support for students in need of extra adjustments or special support.
  • Providing support to mentors in their assignments and contributing to common working methods that strengthen shared vision.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive in the role, you are an engaged and responsive educator with an unpretentious and formative approach. You are communicative and confident speaking in front of groups, whether it involves collegial mentoring or meetings with guardians. You show judgment and have a solution-oriented focus where you see collaboration as the most important path to finding ways where every student can succeed. With curiosity and courage, you contribute to an inspiring work environment where we together take responsibility for sustainable schooling for both students and staff.

We are looking for you who have deep special pedagogical insight and the ability to translate scientific foundations into practical support in everyday life. You can also be a trained special teacher as we can redistribute tasks within the school.

We see that you have:

  • Special educator degree or special teacher qualification.
  • Good assessment skills to follow up on students' development and give constructive feedback.
  • Clear planning skills to structure lessons and work areas based on students' needs.
  • Good knowledge of clarifying pedagogy and accessible learning environments.
  • Ability to lead and document pedagogical investigations in a structured manner.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working with students with school absenteeism or need for extensive extra adjustments.
  • Experience driving school development in a student health team.

Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
