The role of special educator with us

As a teacher on the Individual Programme at the Adapted Upper Secondary School, you work with students who need clear and individually tailored support in their learning. You plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on each student's prerequisites, needs, and goals, with a focus on developing knowledge, independence, and the ability to handle daily life and future working life.

The position includes responsibility for subject areas. On the Individual Programme, students study subjects such as Society and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Environmental Studies, Language and Communication, Physical Education and Health, Home Economics, and Arts. You will work according to the curriculum for the Individual Programme at the Adapted Upper Secondary School.

You have good didactic skills and are creative. You use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) as a natural part of your work. Teaching takes place in various environments, such as outdoors, classrooms, and the local area. You will be part of a team with several educators, working both collegially and independently. In the role of teacher with us, you lead students and staff, as the students' need for support varies. Therefore, it is important that you have good collaboration skills and enjoy leading groups consisting of both students and adults.

Your profile

The right person for this job thrives in a business with constantly changing circumstances and sees opportunities in change. You are interested in creating, maintaining, and nurturing good relationships with both colleagues and with students and guardians. You have good ability to communicate with and lead young people. Together with your colleagues, you plan and organize your work efficiently. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• is a certified special needs teacher, teacher, or preschool teacher.

It is meritorious if you:

• are trained as a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability.
• have experience working in adapted school forms and have good competence regarding the target group.
• have experience with software such as Widgit Go, Inprint, and can handle QR codes with pre-recorded material (which is part of our working methods that make a difference in communication with our target group).
