Your Profile

We are expanding and are now looking for another experienced installation electrician/electrician teacher who wants to show and share their knowledge with high school students. We offer an introductory course for basic pedagogical training. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs. Experience and being a certified vocational teacher are meritorious. In addition to your professional experience and subject competence, we value that you are goal-oriented, have good pedagogical skills, and can inspire and engage our students. You are driven, curious, and actively work to ensure that every student develops as much as possible based on their prerequisites. We also see that you are motivated by challenging yourself, your colleagues, and students, and are not afraid to push boundaries regarding innovative thinking to contribute to your own as well as the school's development. Our students long to enter the working world, and your biggest task is to lead them there!

Your Assignment

Praktiska Gymnasiet in Kalmar is growing and increasing the number of positions. The position is a 100% position starting August 10th or as agreed. You will teach and handle our students within the Electrical Program and together with at least one electrician teacher, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. The position includes teaching, mentorship, teamwork, and work with APL (workplace training). We therefore assume you have good insights into the Electrical sector. Together you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft, and we work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and planning. This applies equally to students and colleagues.

Praktiska Gymnasiet Kalmar

Welcome to a new pleasant workplace. Here there are 270 students attending vocational programs. Here you will teach a nice mix of students with a lot of creativity. The students attend 8 different programs where our three largest are healthcare, vehicles, and childcare and leisure. We work a lot together across vocations and the common high school courses, which makes the collegial collaboration large.

What We Offer

We offer all our newly hired vocational teachers an introductory course that runs for a year and gives you a basic pedagogical education. The course also helps you navigate relevant regulatory documents necessary for your professional role, such as the School Act, the Upper Secondary School Ordinance, and the curriculum. After completing the course, you are given the opportunity to become a permanent vocational teacher.
