With employees in 40 countries, Cytiva is a place where every day is an opportunity to learn, so you can accelerate your career and enhance your skills.

We at Cytiva are proud to work together with a group of nine other Danaher Life Sciences companies. Together, we are pioneers in science and medicine, developing products that help researchers in the fight to save lives.

Do you want to work closely with advanced software systems together with international customers in the Life Science industry, and thrive when you get to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve complex technical problems? Then this might be the right role for you.

Cytiva is now seeking an experienced Software Sustainment Engineer for the Downstream R&D Software department in Uppsala, with a focus on Customer Case Management (CCM). The role involves a key position at the intersection of product, customer, and software development.

As a Software Sustainment Engineer here, you work with advanced customer cases where problems have been escalated all the way from the service organization to R&D. Our customer cases typically involve complex software issues in distributed systems – often related to networks, chromatography runs, results, and databases.

In this role, you will become part of a customer case team that is part of a larger product support team of approximately 20 people with deep product and system knowledge. The role provides a broad holistic understanding of Cytiva's software solutions and how they are used in real customer environments.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex software-related customer problems.
  • Set up and configure virtual environments (Virtual Machines, simulators, lab environments).
  • Reproduce reported customer cases, perform log analysis and tracing, and report defects.
  • Hold dialog with the service organization, customers, product owners, and development teams.
  • Evaluate and implement AI support for analysis and troubleshooting to streamline the ongoing CCM work in the role.
  • In some cases, have direct contact with the customer, including travel for critical cases.

The main requirements for the position are:

  • Software development background with experience in analysis, defect reporting, and communication with customers and product representatives.
  • A few years of experience as a software/service engineer or similar technical role.
  • Experience troubleshooting in complex, distributed systems.
  • Understanding of and experience with the possibilities and application of AI tools in information analysis.
  • Good understanding of networks and system architecture.
  • Experience working with log analysis and troubleshooting across multiple systems.
  • Ability to set up environments virtually or in a lab.
  • Very good communication skills and fluency in Swedish and English.

It is also advantageous if you have previous experience with

  • Customer-facing technical work within the Life Science industry.
  • Knowledge of UNICORN software.

We are looking for someone who is analytical, communicative, and not hesitant to take ownership of complex problems. You take initiative, question when necessary, and drive issues through to the end – from analysis and dialogue to decision and implementation. You thrive working both independently and with others, naturally switching between individual responsibility and collaboration in cross-functional teams.

Great emphasis will be placed on the applicant's personality, professional interests, and drive. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and we may fill this position before the application deadline. For questions regarding the position, contact the recruiting manager Petter Lönnstedt at [email protected].
