The university is undergoing a period of development and change where new ways of working, increased digitalization, and workforce planning are in focus. We are now looking for an experienced and engaged HR Specialist who wants to contribute to this journey by supporting and developing operations in close collaboration with managers and leadership.

Job Responsibilities

The position is located at the HR Unit, whose overall mission is to support the university's leadership, faculties, and departments in strengthening the university's attractiveness and ability for long-term workforce planning by providing professional and coordinated operational support. This position is placed at the Employer Section, one of four sections within the HR Unit. The section consists of 9 employees – competent case handlers, HR specialists, development managers, and lawyers. The field of work spans several areas such as collective agreements and conditions, wage formation, labor law, workforce planning, restructuring, consultative advice, and union negotiations.

As an HR Specialist, you will work closely with leadership and managers, providing both strategic and operational support in matters concerning restructuring, organizational development, and operational change. The role combines classic qualified HR work with a clear mandate to drive and coordinate change management in a complex organization.

You will contribute to ensuring that the university's HR processes, ways of working, and culture develop in line with the organization's long-term goals, while creating security and clarity for managers and employees during change.

Your main areas of responsibility:

  • Provide qualified, consultative HR support to leadership and managers in restructuring and change management.
  • Drive and develop restructuring work related to organizational changes, digitalization, and new ways of working.
  • Support managers in complex personnel matters, labor law issues, and difficult conversations.
  • Coordinate and participate in union collaboration and negotiations.
  • Lead and participate in HR-related projects within organizational and operational development.
  • Work proactively to identify future needs for change and restructuring.

Employment

The position is a permanent employment with a scope of 100% (full-time), located at the HR Unit, University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg. Start date is as soon as possible or by agreement. A probationary period may apply. Your official job title will be HR Specialist.
