The Culture Administration works to promote a broad art and cultural life for everyone to participate in. We strive for a sustainable and open city that places culture and art at the center.

The Culture Administration employs approximately 800 people, primarily working within libraries, cultural centers, museums, and other cultural activities.

Responsibilities

The Finance Unit is part of the administration's supporting and steering functions and belongs to the Department of Finance, Planning, and Analysis. The department actively works to contribute to more resource-efficient processes.

Within the Finance Unit, there is an accounting group responsible for coordinating the administration's financial reporting. The group consists of four employees. As one of the group's employees has another assignment for a period, we are seeking a substitute Finance Assistant until May 2027.

In the role of Finance Assistant, you will work broadly within the accounting area. Your tasks include, among others, customer invoicing (both internal and external), work with customer accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and cash bookkeeping. You will participate in internal controls and contribute to the work with monthly, interim, and annual financial statements.

Qualifications

For the position of Finance Assistant, you must have at least a high school education with a focus on economics. Furthermore, you should have experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Administrator, or equivalent, preferably within municipal operations. You also need experience with invoice handling/customer accounts receivable and accounting, as well as good knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel. Experience working in larger financial systems such as Unit4 is considered an asset.

As a person, you have good communication skills and express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing, which is important as the role involves many internal and external contacts. You work carefully and structured with a service-oriented approach. You have an eye for detail and follow up on your work to ensure high quality in what you deliver. Furthermore, you are flexible and easily adapt your working methods when conditions change or new information arises.

Other Information

The City of Gothenburg actively works to promote equal rights and opportunities and to counteract discrimination. We care about our employees' health and offer, among other things, wellness contributions, discounted gym memberships, and bicycle benefits. We have a smoke-free working environment.

We recruit based on a competency-based recruitment process to ensure a fair and equal recruitment. In this recruitment, we do not use cover letters. Instead, you will answer questions related to the job's requirements and competencies to ensure a fair, norm-critical, and accurate process.

Interviews are planned for week 17. We may start calling candidates for interviews before the application deadline has passed. However, all applications submitted within the application period will be considered. For your interview, you need to bring a valid ID (passport/national ID) and, if necessary, proof of residence permit. This is because, as an employer, we need to verify your identity and your right to work in Sweden.

To those representing staffing and recruitment agencies: For this recruitment, we have decided on our recruitment channels and therefore decline any further offers of advertising and recruitment assistance.
