RESPONSIBILITIES

The Department of Children and Education is seeking a qualified case handler willing to work in a central and significant role. The position involves responsibility for both school transport and school placement, including case handling, budget responsibility, and handling appeals.

As a case handler, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and handling cases within school transport and school placement. The role involves exercising public authority, and you will make decisions according to current legislation, primarily the Education Act and the Administrative Procedure Act. The work also includes preparing and handling appeals.

You are responsible for the budget within the area and work strategically with follow-up, quality work, and the development of routines. The position also entails close dialogue with guardians, principals, contractors, and other internal and external partners.

  • Handling school transport and school placement cases
  • Decision-making and documentation according to current legislation
  • Handling appeals
  • Budget responsibility for school transport operations
  • Contract management and collaboration with school transport contractors
  • Communication with guardians and school leadership
  • Contributing to the development of routines, working methods, and digital processes

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with legal competence who is well-versed in the Education Act and the Administrative Procedure Act. You have experience with exercising public authority and feel secure making decisions according to current regulations. The role requires that you have excellent ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good computer skills and experience working with administrative systems. To succeed in the position, you also have experience working within public administration.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with school transport, school placement, or other school administrative processes. Experience with Optiplan or similar case handling systems is also valuable, as is experience with budget work or financial follow-up.

We are looking for a person who is structured and meticulous, with an analytical and solution-oriented working style. You are attentive and service-oriented in your contacts and enjoy collaborating with others. Good communication skills are a prerequisite for the role.
