Do you want to help develop Bohuslän Museum?
Now is your chance as we are looking for a
Accounting Accountant
100%, permanent position
Bohuslän Museum in Uddevalla is in an exciting phase of development where we are renewing and developing our operations, with the goal of being an open and relevant museum for our time. We work with sustainability as our guiding star – with roots in the local community and eyes on the world.
We are now looking for an Accounting Accountant to be placed in the Staff Unit, which is responsible for the museum's finance, HR, IT, quality, administration, and procurement, and is led by the Head of Staff.
The museum underwent a significant reorganization in 2025, and the Staff Unit is also undergoing changes. This position is part of ensuring that the staff unit supports the museum's operations and strategic goals in the best possible way. You will therefore join an exciting phase and be attracted to an organization in change, thriving in a dynamic and changing environment with high demands for personal drive.
This is an operational role suitable for someone with a few years of experience in accounting and preferably a KY education (Swedish accounting qualification). You are attracted to being the "hub of the network" and enjoy gaining good knowledge of the organization, its staff, and tasks to handle accounting correctly. You like to take overall responsibility and have good initiative. You will have overall operational responsibility for the museum's accounting with good support from the Head of Staff (also Chief Financial Officer), whom you can use as a sounding board and support.
Main responsibilities:
- Accounts payable and receivable, including registration of payments and receipts
- Cash and bank reconciliation and follow-up
- Continuous bookkeeping, monthly reconciliation, and project accounting
- Updating cheat sheets for the accounting system
- Ongoing financial service towards the museum's operations
- Participation in year-end closing work
- Participation in monthly and interim reconciliations
- Responsible for VAT handling
- Responsible for tax declarations
- System administrator for the accounting system
The position is suitable for someone with experience in bookkeeping and accounting and post-secondary education in accounting or equivalent experience. You need good knowledge in accounting and financial administration. You need good administrative skills, be meticulous, structured, and good at learning different programs and systems. We currently work in Pyramid. We are a small organization, and you will support the entire museum's operations, so you need a good service mindset and communication skills. You need to be flexible and able to prioritize tasks based on materiality and deadlines. You need very good ability to work both independently and with others.
Above all, we are looking for someone with the right attitude and willingness to solve problems and deliver results. We are a pleasant work group that helps each other and believe it is important to have fun at work. Do you want to join us on our continued development journey?
