The Prison and Probation Service is Growing – We Are Hiring New Staff for Skogome Prison
The Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating existing ones, and expanding our operations. We are now seeking new employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.
Skogome Prison is the largest facility in Sweden for men convicted of sexual offenses in security class 2. It also includes a smaller psychiatric care unit. Skogome Prison opened in 1957 and is located at Lillhagsvägen 301 in Hisingen, Gothenburg. The prison currently employs approximately 250 staff members across various professional groups and competencies. With a renovation and new construction project starting this year, the prison will nearly double its capacity, featuring modernized premises and larger spaces for treatment and activities.
