Democracy Ambassadors Wanted at Tidaholm Library

Are you between 18 and 24 years old and want to contribute to strengthening young people's participation in democracy? Tidaholm Library is now looking for three young democracy ambassadors who want to work on issues related to democracy, elections, and young people's influence.

About the Position

As a democracy ambassador, you will work together with a mentor and other young people to plan and implement activities focused on democracy and civic engagement. The work primarily targets young adults and first-time voters and may involve organizing discussions or panel debates with local politicians, creating exhibitions and information campaigns ahead of the 2026 election, and exploring which issues engage young people in Tidaholm. The assignment also includes collaboration with the library and other local actors and takes place both in the library's premises and through outreach activities in the municipality.

This initiative is part of a regional collaboration with the Västra Götaland Region, where libraries serve as important meeting places for knowledge, dialogue, and participation. The project focuses on young people's perspectives, aiming to increase knowledge about democratic processes, especially among first-time voters.

The kickoff and inspiration meeting for young ambassadors and mentors will take place in early May at the Region's House in Gothenburg, and the meeting will be in the evening.

About the Workplace

Tidaholm Library is an open and inclusive meeting place for people of all ages. Here, literature, knowledge, and participation are at the forefront through books, events, and various activities. The library also conducts youth activities aimed at young people aged 13 to 19.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone between 18 and 24 years old who lives in or has ties to Tidaholm. You have an interest in social issues, democracy, and young people's influence, as well as good knowledge of Swedish. Previous experience is not a requirement.

In the selection process, we place great emphasis on personal suitability, engagement, and the ability to meet people.

Employment and Application

You will work during June and in August and September. The employment is a part-time hourly position totaling 100 hours. Working hours are primarily scheduled for afternoons and evenings, with arrangements made to accommodate studies or other commitments.
