Navet science center is an established knowledge arena and meeting place where schools, academia, business, and society collaborate. With over 30 years of experience, we work to strengthen interest in natural sciences, technology, and mathematics, contributing to the long-term skills supply in Sjuhärad. Each year, we engage over 70,000 children, youth, and adults through activities that inspire and enhance knowledge in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). Navet is part of the Boråsregion Sjuhärad municipal association.

We are now looking for a project manager for the Mattekraft Sjuhärad initiative

Mattekraft Sjuhärad is a three-year regional initiative where Navet collaborates with municipalities, academia, and business to strengthen children's and young people's mathematical skills, motivation, and future confidence. The project includes several interventions throughout the educational chain and involves seven municipalities with a large target group of children, students, guardians, and teachers.

As a project manager, you will play a central role in planning, coordinating, and developing parts of the project. The position involves close collaboration with municipalities, schools, academia, and businesses across Sjuhärad. You will be part of a team with two other project managers, where you, together with the project's partners, are responsible for the project's implementation. You will have a particular responsibility for the work packages Future Problem Solvers and Competence Boost Mathematics.

Future Problem Solvers targets students with a particular interest in or talent for mathematics. Through special groups, math competitions, and collaboration with universities and businesses, new contexts are created where young people can develop their mathematical thinking and meet like-minded peers.

Competence Boost Mathematics targets teachers and school leaders. The aim is to strengthen professional competence and the quality of teaching through long-term professional development initiatives, collegial networks, and experience exchange in collaboration with the University of Borås and the National Center for Mathematics at the University of Gothenburg.

In addition, you will contribute to the project's work with early and preventive measures as well as Navet's school programs in mathematics. The role is both strategic and operational. You need to be able to analyze needs, plan interventions, and create structures for collaboration while driving activities forward and ensuring their implementation.

Your responsibilities include:

• Planning and coordinating activities within the work packages Future Problem Solvers and Competence Boost Mathematics
• Calling and leading meetings with partners, networks, and working groups
• Developing, planning, and implementing professional development initiatives for teachers and school staff
• Developing, planning, and implementing school programs and educational activities in mathematics
• Planning, following up, and documenting the project's activities
• Collaborating closely with the project's other project managers and partners in the region

The role is both strategic and operational. You need to be able to drive development work while also participating in the implementation of activities and engaging with students and educators in practice.

Qualifications

• Higher education degree that we assess as relevant for the position
• Experience in project management or development work
• Experience in education, pedagogy, or learning
• Good collaboration skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing

It is a merit if you have:

• A background as a mathematics teacher
• Experience working with particularly gifted students or special programs
• Experience in collaboration between schools, academia, and business
• Experience in planning training or professional development for teachers

Employment conditions

The position is a 36-month project employment linked to the Mattekraft Sjuhärad project, with a planned project period from 2026 to 2029. Start date and salary to be agreed upon. Evening work may also occur.
