Your role

In this role, you will be responsible for driving, developing, and quality assuring important HR areas and their processes within the municipality. Your role also includes being the operational support for the Management Sector. The assignments are qualified, varied, and often complex, and you are expected to be an active driver in:

• identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing overarching HR issues,
• driving development work in our HR processes together with the unit and the organization,
• leading and conducting investigations and preparing decision-making materials,
• supporting managers in labor law and operationally critical issues.

Here you can influence both direction and working methods while working closely with colleagues who are eager to share knowledge and create value together.

Your knowledge and experience

We are looking for someone who is competent, experienced, and confident in their profession. You thrive in a role where you are expected to take initiative, structure complex issues, and provide qualified support in situations where both judgment and knowledge need to be instinctual.

We see that you have:

• Relevant academic degree in HR or a related field.
• Several years of experience in qualified HR work, preferably in the public sector.
• Solid knowledge of labor law and confidence in providing advice and driving cases.
• The ability to see the big picture while acting on the details when necessary.
• A communicative, driven, and collaborative personality.

Experience from the public sector is meritorious, but the most important thing is that you are stable in your competence and have the desire to develop and grow.

Your future workplace

The HR and staffing unit consists of eleven employees who together are responsible for HR processes such as work environment, recruitment, labor law, staffing, and scheduling issues. The unit works closely with the entire organization and leads and supports managers in their work.

In your role, you will have close collaboration with our HR generalists and together contribute to a sustainable and well-functioning work life for our employees. You will report to the HR manager and become part of a pleasant, knowledgeable work group where collaboration and a professional approach are central. Vara Municipality's Ethical Compass guides us in doing good for each other.

In Vara, we have a strong tradition of joint organizational development for all employees and know that both leadership and employee engagement play a crucial role in ensuring quality. Together with other strategists and leaders in the municipality, you will participate in a leadership development program as part of the Developing Leadership (UL) under the auspices of the Swedish Defence University.
