We are now looking for summer and hourly substitutes for our Staffing Unit within the Department of Support for People with Disabilities, district South-West (Frölunda, Högsbo, Askim, Styrsö and western Gothenburg), who will cover for regular staff's short-term absence and vacation during the year and summer.

Within support for people with disabilities, you will work with everything from home care to supporting individuals in their workplaces, leisure activities, or in creative environments such as theater and music. Everyday support is the foundation – but needs vary. Regardless of the assignment, the goal is always the same: to strengthen people's independence and quality of life.

What is a disability?

A disability is a reduced physical, mental, or intellectual ability. It can be congenital or arise later in life and can be visible or invisible. Every person is unique – with their own abilities, needs, and strengths – and that is what makes the work both meaningful and developing.

Our operations

We are recruiting for several operations within support for people with disabilities:

• Housing with special services (BmSS) – 24/7 operations.
• Daily activities – habilitative and work-oriented activities during the day.
• Housing support – support in clients' home environments, mainly during the day but also evenings and weekends.
• Short-term accommodation for adults – time-limited support and care for adult clients.

Placement is based on the needs of the operations and your previous experiences.

Job responsibilities

The work varies depending on the operation but may include:

• Pedagogical support in everyday life
• Personal care
• Cooking, laundry, and other daily tasks
• Activities and social support
• Documentation and medication management according to delegation

Challenging and self-harming behaviors may occur in some of our operations.

Summer substitutes:

You need to be able to work according to a schedule for a few consecutive weeks during weeks 25–33. In your application, you indicate when you can work. There is an opportunity to start as an hourly substitute before the summer.

Hourly substitutes:

As an hourly substitute, you work as needed and enter your availability yourself. Working hours vary between day, evening, weekend, and night depending on the operation.

Qualifications

To apply for a position with us, you must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with regulations regarding minors' working environment (AFS 2023:2).

To be able to document, you need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which means a requirement for passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the testing user EducateIt.

If you are a trained support assistant, nursing assistant, or have another education that the employer assesses as equivalent, or have ongoing education in health and care, pedagogical, or social work, it is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience working in health and care, pedagogical, or social work.
