Who will you be working with?

A wonderful 7-year-old boy is looking for more assistants to join his lovely team as soon as possible. He lives in a villa in a newly built residential area in Alingsås with his family, consisting of parents and two younger siblings.

The boy has a neurological condition that means he requires personal assistance around the clock. He thrives on closeness and hearing sounds around him. He is calm by nature and enjoys being in the bustle of loved ones. He loves listening to stories when his assistants read to him, as well as hearing audiobooks and music. The boy enjoys company, and his younger siblings love to play and have fun in his room - where he often is with his assistant.

The boy needs someone to help him with all aspects of daily life, and you will therefore be his support through everything. He has no verbal language, limited vision, and uses a wheelchair to explore the world.

As a personal assistant, you become a significant part of his and the family's daily life. You will be a safe point and advocate for his best interests in all situations. The boy has double assistance around the clock.

Scope of the position

We are looking for assistants who can work in the summer and preferably have the opportunity to step in as substitutes before the summer. There are both night and day shifts, weekdays, and weekends.

Who are you applying?

It is important that you, as an applicant, are a responsible and reliable person. We want you to be engaged, positive, and creative. You should have a calm and present demeanor, be empathetic, and able to act quickly in emergency situations. In this job, you should be attentive and independent enough to take your own initiatives. You should feel comfortable being part of a family with children - where your role as a personal assistant is significant in enabling the boy to participate in daily life with his family.

It is desirable that you have experience working with children in some capacity. It is welcomed - but not a requirement - if you have experience with epilepsy, managing feeding tubes, and/or handling medical technical aids such as suction machines.

To thrive in this job, you should: - Enjoy working independently as well as in a team - Be able to act on quick decisions regarding medication, breathing, or similar - Be comfortable working with respiratory monitoring and with cough machines, suction devices, and other medical technical aids.

Getting to work: About a 10-minute bike ride from central Alingsås. Limited public transport options. A driver's license and car are a plus.

Warm welcome to apply now – selection is ongoing!

We also require you to present a criminal record extract. Apply for this now via the link below: https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/barn-med-funktionsnedsattning/
