We are now looking for a social worker within financial assistance who wants to help shape the future working methods together with us. Your future workplace, the Social Services for Individuals and Families in Vara Municipality, is part of the Social Welfare sector, which consists of three units: the Adult Unit, the Family Unit, and the Assistance Unit. Each unit is led by a unit manager, and together we work under a common operations manager. Within the Adult Unit, we work with financial assistance, social psychiatry, substance abuse, and domestic violence. There is also an outpatient clinic for substance abuse and social psychiatry.

IFO Adult Unit is a creative workgroup that has a desire and focus on working with development issues based on a clear and common value base. We are in an exciting development process and are now looking for a new colleague in the role of a social worker for financial assistance. Due to upcoming legislative changes introducing an activity requirement, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a development process together with your colleagues.

Within financial assistance, there are 7 social workers and 1 case officer. As support in daily work, there is a senior social worker and close access to the unit manager. We have a close collaboration with the municipality's labor market unit, as one of our tasks is to provide individuals with support in achieving their own livelihood. To meet the complex needs of the target group, collaboration occurs within IFO with other units.

We offer support in the work through method guidance and case reviews both in groups and individually. The workgroup has access to external supervision.

Your role

As a social worker, you will investigate and make decisions regarding the right to financial assistance while conducting social change work where you, with the individual in focus, actively work to motivate and support them towards self-sufficiency and independence. Documentation is part of the job, where legal security, quality, and accuracy are central elements. You actively work to create collaboration with others, both internally and externally, as part of the support for the individual.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has other education that the employer deems equivalent. You are well-versed in the legislation governing social services, and it is an advantage if you have experience in handling financial assistance cases. You may also have further education relevant to the field, such as MI-method, solution-focused method.

You are interested in and have the ability and knowledge to meet, motivate, and support individuals in vulnerable situations in processes leading to self-sufficiency.

We expect you to be an empathetic and secure person with good personal maturity and that you contribute to a good working atmosphere. You have the ability to prioritize in challenging situations and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others. You should have good reflective and analytical skills and be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing, as the work involves a significant amount of documentation and administration. We also place great importance on your contribution to the workgroup in solving the tasks and challenges that arise in daily work.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
