Your tasks

As a support assistant with us, you will work with individuals with various physical and mental disabilities, mental health issues, NPF, and sometimes in combination with harmful use and dependence. In working with the users, we focus on supporting and creating a daily life that provides each individual with a meaningful, manageable, and understandable existence.

The approach towards the users is based on a low-arousal response where the focus is on creating value by meeting the individual in a professional manner, communicating with respect for the user's self-determination and personal integrity, and working with clarifying pedagogy.

About you

We are looking for someone who has completed the care and nursing program with advanced courses in psychiatry/disability or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social work or pedagogical work, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You need to have experience and knowledge of working with individuals with psychiatric and intellectual disabilities. It is an advantage if you also have knowledge and experience of working with users where substance abuse issues may occur.

It is also advantageous if you have training in Independent Living (ESL), Motivational Interviewing (MI), care and support coordination, and low-arousal response.

You take responsibility for your and the common tasks with the focus on the best interests of the organization and the users. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and create a good atmosphere in the meeting. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful work climate.

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has the ability to remain calm in encounters with people in distress and can handle challenging situations. You should be able to work with a low-arousal response and have the ability to contribute to a safe and positive atmosphere both in the workgroup and with our users.

You take great responsibility in your work. You distinguish between the personal and professional and relate in a way that is adapted to the situation. You can discuss reflectively with your colleagues and others you need to collaborate with, thereby creating a common approach based on each person's situation.

You have the ability to adapt in your work and prioritize according to current conditions and see opportunities. Social psychiatry and functional support is a field that is constantly changing and developing, which places high demands on flexibility regarding both tasks and working hours.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Since there are animals in the workplace, you should not be allergic to pets.

Before an employment offer, an acceptable extract from the police's criminal record must be presented.

In Orust municipality, we apply full-time as the norm, which means that you will receive a full-time position. This may mean that you as an employee may have to do resource shifts in other units than the one you are hired for.
