At Bräcke diakoni, we are now looking for temporary and summer substitutes for Mellangården, a psychiatric residence where you support young adults on their path to increased independence. Your Job This Summer

As a summer substitute at Mellangården, you will be part of a team of housing pedagogues who together support young adults with mental and neuropsychiatric disabilities in their daily lives. The work is scheduled and takes place during the day, evening, and weekends. In this role, you will work closely with the individual throughout their stay – from moving in to completion – focusing on motivating, strengthening, and creating structure in daily life. You provide support in daily living, work from individual action plans, and collaborate with colleagues, authorities, and other important contacts. Your job may involve:

• Supporting daily routines and housing training
• Motivating and guiding residents to develop independence
• Participating in and creating structure around activities, employment, and leisure
• Working from action plans together with the resident
• Collaborating with colleagues, social services, healthcare, and relatives

The work is characterized by a pedagogical approach where we use methods such as low-arousal responses, MI, and trauma-informed care.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone over 18 years old, who has knowledge of the target group and wants to work extra alongside studies or other work. Perhaps you are studying social work, behavioral science, or healthcare. As a person, you have a positive view of humanity and are motivated to work closely with people in need of support, care, and guidance. You are solution-oriented, collaborative, and exploratory in your working style and in your interactions with others. You have the ability to structure and follow up on your work while being flexible in a daily life where needs change. You believe in the equal value of all and want to strengthen each individual's opportunities.

Your Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Experience working in psychiatry or with individuals with mental or neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF)
• Post-secondary education such as social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, social worker, or behavioral scientist is an advantage

Bräcke Psychiatric Residence Mellangården

Mellangården is a short-term residence with staffing around the clock and a total of 16 places. Here, we support young adults (18–35 years) with mental and neuropsychiatric disabilities in managing daily life, housing training, social contacts, employment, and meaningful leisure – with the goal of eventually enabling independent living. The residence is drug-free, and the work is conducted through case management and individual action plans, where the resident's participation and development towards increased independence are the focus.
