Systems Technician at FMV
We are looking for a systems technician who wants to help drive our work with support and training systems for the Jas Gripen and other flight systems forward. With us, you will have the opportunity to use your skills where they truly make a difference. Together with an experienced team, you will analyze solutions that leave an impact – both today and in the future.
About the Position
As a systems technician in an aviation IT environment, you will work with advanced technology in an operation that is of great importance to Sweden's defense capability. The role includes administration and maintenance of servers, clients, and network equipment related to JAS 39 Gripen and other flight systems. You will be responsible for the installation and configuration of local support systems as well as the evaluation of both existing and new system solutions.
The work takes place in a structured environment where compliance with regulations and routines is a natural part of everyday life. IT security is central, and you will work with security solutions that place high demands on both accuracy and technical competence.
You will be an important part of the technical systems work and contribute your expertise in managing complex products across several technical areas. Here, technical breadth is combined with the opportunity to influence the future flight systems in a security-classified and socially important environment.
The position is located in Linköping and travel may be required.
About You
We are looking for someone who has at least a high school diploma and a relevant IT education, or equivalent competence that we assess as comparable. You have good system knowledge of Windows server and client operating systems and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, in speech as well as in writing. A B driver's license is a requirement.
It is an advantage if you have relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of advanced IT systems based on Windows and if you have Microsoft certification or other relevant further education in the field. If you also have basic knowledge of Linux, experience with or understanding of SQL databases, knowledge in system design – preferably with a focus on virtual environments where, for example, Hyper-V and VMware are used – or basic networking knowledge, we see it as a significant plus.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who collaborates easily and communicates in a responsive and constructive manner with others. You are structured, plan and prioritize your work effectively, and meet set deadlines. At the same time, you are flexible and adapt quickly to changing conditions with a positive attitude towards change.
Your position/title will be systems administrator.
