Software Developer in Operational Railway Systems

We are strengthening our IT organization and increasing the pace of innovation at Trafikverket with .NET developers for IKT Railway IT (Information and Communication Technology). You will be part of a team that develops, manages, and is involved in the operation of our operational and critical systems. Together with the team, you will maintain a high delivery capacity and continuously deliver value to users and train passengers.

IKT Railway IT is on an exciting journey where we are undergoing a transformation in both the technical platform and our working methods. The goal of this journey is to modernize our technical platform, where we will work with the latest .NET versions, test-driven development, short lead times to production, and an application environment where we primarily want to work with containers and Kubernetes at the core.

Our teams consist of several roles and competencies that collaborate according to agile methods, and we are constantly working to develop and improve our working methods. We exchange ideas and innovation proposals, and together we solve the challenges we face. As a Software Developer at Trafikverket, you will help facilitate everyday life for residents and businesses across Sweden.

Employee's Description of the Position:

As a software developer, you are an important cog in a development team at Trafikverket. You become part of the glue between IT and the Business and gain a unique understanding of both parts. With a curious mind and the ability to think outside the box, you contribute daily to improving the Swedish transport system.

The location for the position is Linköping.

Do you want a flexible everyday life with the opportunity to work from home? In this role, you can work remotely up to two days a week over time; on other days, you will work together with colleagues at the office in Linköping.

In this recruitment, web-based tests are used as part of the selection process. Interviews will be conducted digitally via Skype and are scheduled to take place during weeks 15 and 16.

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university degree in IT with 180 credits (120 ECTS), e.g., computer science, software engineering, or other education combined with experience in the field that we consider equivalent
• several years of relevant work experience in software development throughout the entire chain, including requirements specification, design, programming, testing, and deployment
• several years of relevant work experience in programming within the Microsoft platform with C# and/or .NET
• good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

It is meritorious if you have relevant and current work experience in:

• test management within software development
• test automation; e.g., with Specflow, ReqnRoll, Cucumber, TDD/BDD
• relational databases; e.g., with PostgreSQL
• container technology; e.g., with Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift
