System Engineer

based in Norrköping

The Swedish Maritime Administration operates various technical systems for its own and customers' operations, such as radio and sensor networks, traffic information systems, maintenance systems, and operator centers. The responsibility for keeping several of the systems updated for future needs lies with the System and Fairway Technology
within the Business Area of Construction and Technology. More modern technology is being introduced for shipping in many areas, which will involve a more consolidated amount of information shared among different users in real-time. The goal is an even safer, more efficient, and sustainable shipping.

Job Responsibilities
The work as a system engineer/project manager at the Swedish Maritime Administration is diverse, and you will, among other things, work on updating, developing, and managing existing systems, drafting specifications for future systems, and driving and participating in projects, including in international contexts. Our management includes systems such as the Coastal Radio, ViVa, Navigation Systems, maintenance systems (IFS), and AIS. Some fieldwork occurs for problem-solving as well as training and customer contacts.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a master's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field
or experience that we assess as equivalent. A prerequisite for the job is that you have a good ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English, in both spoken and written form. You need to have documented experience in project management.

It is advantageous if you have experience in system management or system development. If you have knowledge in one or more areas of radio and data communication or navigation, that is also a plus. Other work experience from the maritime sector is also advantageous. It is good if you have a B driver's license as travel is required in the job.

How and when?
This recruitment concerns a permanent position expected to be filled as soon as possible.

Interviews will be held during weeks 14-15.

The Swedish Maritime Administration may apply a six-month probationary period.
The position may involve military placement at the Swedish Maritime Administration.

The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security check with a background check may be conducted before an offer of employment.
