The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defence and security to support Sweden's military and civil defence. The research spans several areas, including underwater, cyber defence, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defence, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analyses. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defence capability.
Do you want to strengthen total defence by developing Sweden's ability to handle cyber threats? Do you have the interest and skills required to develop into one of our leading cybersecurity experts? Then FOI could be your new workplace! We offer a balanced work life, a developing work environment, and a socially important job!
About the Position
You will work with experienced colleagues on the analysis and development of methods and technologies to prevent and manage cyber threats. This may involve experiments related to the automation of incident management, studies of software vulnerabilities, automatic generation of attack scenarios, assessment of security properties in digital systems, analyses of cybersecurity risks, or the development of network environments for experimentation, evaluation, and training at the cyber facility Crate (www.foi.se/crate (https://www.foi.se/crate)). Knowledge gained is applied in projects where you contribute to solving concrete cybersecurity issues for our clients, including analyzing possible or chosen security architectures and security measures.
About the Unit
You will be part of the Cybersecurity unit, which belongs to Cyber Defence and Command Technology.
FOI has one of Sweden's largest research groups in cybersecurity. With us, you will contribute to Sweden's cyber defence capability while having great opportunities for personal development and influencing both your own tasks and the direction of the organization. We work with current and future challenges, primarily related to automation, methods, and assessment within cybersecurity. We have one of the world's most advanced cyber facilities (Crate, www.foi.se/crate (https://www.foi.se/crate)) for research, training, exercises, and evaluation at our disposal.
