The Unit for National Migration Issues works with matters concerning the reception of asylum seekers and the asylum process, labor migration, family reunification, citizenship, revocation of permits, and return. The unit is also responsible for the governance of the Swedish Migration Agency and budget work on Migration 8, as well as handling individual cases and environmental analysis.
You will be a case officer for certain areas of responsibility within the unit, taking into account the competencies you bring to the position. The work involves analyzing and preparing proposals in migration policy issues, preparing materials for political leadership, and actively participating in policy development within the unit's area of responsibility.
You will represent the unit and the Ministry of Justice in various contexts.

Your background
We are looking for someone with an academic degree relevant to the assignment, such as political science, law, or economics. You have current and several years of experience working with migration issues. Furthermore, you are expected to have very good knowledge of Swedish public administration.
Experience in case handling within the Government Offices is an advantage.
You have an excellent ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
Your qualities
To fit in the role, you need to have a very good analytical ability and strategic skill as you will have many contacts within the department as well as with other departments and the Swedish Migration Agency. Furthermore, you are quality-conscious, structured, flexible, driven, and effective.
You have excellent collaboration skills and see supporting and helping your colleagues as a natural part of your work. It is also important for us that you actively contribute to maintaining a good working environment in the unit.
At times, the work pace is high, which requires you to have a structured approach, be able to prioritize, and deliver quality under time pressure. You are stable and act with good judgment.

The position refers to one or more employments, with both permanent and fixed-term contracts. In the case of permanent employment, a six-month probationary period applies. A security check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
