Do you want to make a difference and contribute to safer healthcare and social services? The Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is growing and is now looking for investigators for licensing assessments to develop state supervision and licensing processes.
About the job
As an investigator, you will be part of a unit where the main tasks involve assessing actors seeking permission to operate in dental care (PSL). IVO's licensing assessments are based on the state value foundation and should be characterized by clarity, credibility, integrity, efficiency, and good service.
Your main tasks will include:
- processing applications based on a risk-based approach focusing on quality aspects of the intended operation
- making objective assessments based on laws and regulations
- conducting licensing assessments with clarity, credibility, integrity, efficiency, and good service while adhering to the state value foundation
- contributing to development work, consensus, and the whole with willingness and interest.
The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period, located in Stockholm. Travel may occur as part of the job.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a degree in Dentistry or another healthcare profession, law, social sciences, or other relevant education deemed equivalent by the employer
- at least 3 years of relevant work experience in qualified investigative or administrative work, preferably within the public sector, state authority, and/or other regulated activities
- good and current IT and computer skills
- very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
To succeed in this role, you need to be an analytical and meticulous person, with the ability to see both the big picture and details in complex materials. You work in a structured manner and can plan, prioritize, and drive cases forward effectively. As a person, you enjoy collaborating and contributing to shared results within the team. You are communicative and express yourself clearly and distinctly, both in writing and verbally. We also value that you are responsible and take full accountability for assignments, delivering high quality, and meeting deadlines.

We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- experience in the healthcare sector, particularly dental care, e.g., investigative work in dental issues or clinical work in dental care
- experience in management and quality development within private dental companies
- experience in working with quality and patient safety issues
- experience in analyzing and assessing materials against laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- good knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing operations, e.g., the Patient Safety Act, the Dental Care Act, and the Patient Data Act
- good familiarity with the organization of healthcare and social services.

Workplace description
The department is currently in an exciting phase of expansion and change and development work to handle the new licensing requirement for dental care in the best way. The purpose of introducing licensing requirements in private dental care is to increase control over providers. This contributes to enhanced patient safety by improving conditions to exclude unscrupulous actors.
IVO contributes to safe healthcare and social services
The mission of the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is to contribute to safe, high-quality healthcare and social services in accordance with laws and other regulations through supervision and licensing assessments. The authority is characterized by great commitment and a broad and deep knowledge and understanding of healthcare and social services in Sweden. We exist for the benefit of healthcare and social service recipients.
The authority has about 800 employees. The supervision work is carried out at six regional departments across the country. The departments for licensing assessment, analysis, planning, communication, and operational support are located in Stockholm, as is the director-general's office.
