We hope you will enjoy being with us!

About the job

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the municipality's work with data protection for the future.

In the role of Data Protection Officer in Uddevalla, you will also support two smaller municipalities in the area on the same issues. You play an important role in ensuring citizens' privacy and trust in matters concerning the handling of personal data and data protection.

The position is located at the municipal executive office's development unit, which is tasked with leading, coordinating, and quality-assuring municipality-wide processes as well as ongoing work with continuous improvements in the municipality.

Responsibilities

As a Data Protection Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the municipalities operate in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. In this exciting and challenging role, you will both review and support the municipalities' committees and operations. Your tasks will include, among others:

  • Ensuring that personal data is processed correctly and legally.
  • Monitoring internal compliance with the data protection regulation and reporting any deficiencies and development needs.
  • Developing and revising governing documents, processes, and methodological support in the area.
  • Providing advice, support, and information on the data protection regulation and related legislation.
  • Assisting in conducting impact assessments and advising on personal data incidents.
  • Identifying needs for competence development and planning and conducting training and workshops.
  • Collaborating with and serving as the contact person for the supervisory authority.
  • Being available for registered individuals who wish to exercise their rights or have questions about personal data processing.

Who are we looking for?

Your personal qualities such as integrity, independence, and ability to collaborate will be crucial for successfully navigating this role. You enjoy working independently but also see the value in collaborating with others to achieve common goals and ensure compliance with data protection. You are organized and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously, always focusing on quality and accuracy. You think long-term and have the ability to see the big picture in data protection work, which helps us create effective and sustainable solutions. We value a structured and strategic approach, and it is important that you have a good ability to lead municipality-wide processes with a focus on future solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a law degree or another equivalent higher education degree that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have good knowledge of the data protection regulation and related legislation, and have worked as a Data Protection Officer or otherwise been active in the field. Experience in other forms of legal work is an advantage, and we prefer that you have worked in the public sector.

You will collaborate with many other competencies and colleagues, so you need to have good collaborative skills and be able to communicate clearly and understandably to both large and small groups. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Welcome with your application!

We plan to conduct interviews on March 12th.
