Job Responsibilities

Do you want an operational and outgoing role where you can strengthen the establishment, participation, and inclusion of newcomers in Gothenburg? We are now looking for a development leader who will work to reach out to the target group for community orientation and contribute to strengthening the city's collaboration with relevant actors.

You will be part of the unit for community-oriented initiatives, where around 25 employees – community guides, business developers, coordinators, and unit managers – work together to offer community orientation in native languages and other complementary initiatives for foreign-born individuals, such as parental support and digital skills training.

In this role, you will work both operationally and proactively with the goal of reaching and motivating more newcomers and foreign-born individuals to participate in community orientation, as well as successfully strengthening collaboration with other municipal services and civil society in matters related to community orientation and integration.

As part of your assignment, you will identify and establish contact with actors who meet the target group, and you will create, strengthen, and maintain dialogues both with these actors and directly with the target group. The work also involves further developing and deepening existing collaborations with, for example, social services, SFI, labor market units, adult education, and preschool/school. You will disseminate information about community orientation in an accessible and target group-adapted manner and be present in the arenas where the target group is located, such as association meetings, SFI, accommodations, parent meetings, open meeting places, and in digital channels.

An important part of the assignment is also to collect and relay experiences, needs, and potential obstacles to the unit to contribute to the continued development of the city's work with community orientation.

Since the assignment is new, you will also be involved in shaping the content of the role and developing working methods that best meet the needs of the target group. You will work independently but in close collaboration with colleagues and with one of the unit's managers as your closest supervisor.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant higher education degree for the position, for example in social work, social sciences, or another related field.

We consider it a requirement that you have experience in outreach work, experience in collaboration, and experience in work related to integration, social work, or similar areas.

You also need to have a good ability to communicate with different target groups, both verbally and in writing. You are confident in representing an organization and building relationships in various contexts. You also have a good understanding of the establishment process for foreign-born individuals and the factors that affect participation and inclusion.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience from social services or other municipal operations, as well as a good understanding of the municipal mandate and its logic.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities that the employer deems important for succeeding in the assignment.

As a person, we are looking for someone who is both solution-oriented and collaborative. You bring new ideas and perspectives to the job to solve problems. You work well with others, are curious, encourage dialogue and questions, and can see more than one possible solution.

You are independent and driven. You take initiative, start activities, and achieve results whether you work alone or with others. You have a strong commitment and enthusiasm for your work.

Last but not least, you have a good ability to build trust, are attentive to the needs of the target group, and work with a professional and respectful approach.

Welcome with your application!
