Investigator at the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO)
Do you want to make a societal impact and contribute to safer health and social care by developing state supervision and licensing? The Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is now looking for an experienced investigator for the Analysis Department in Stockholm for a specific fixed-term assignment.
About the Job
As an experienced investigator in this specific fixed-term employment (SÄVA), you will work on a cross-agency development assignment aimed at investigating the conditions for incorporating quality review as part of IVO's work, with a particular focus on social services. The work is done in collaboration with another authority, the National Board of Health and Welfare.
The assignment aims to produce materials, analyses, and proposals that can support the authority's continued development. The work will include:
- investigation of possible models, working methods, and methodological approaches for quality review within the framework of IVO's assignment, based on social services
- mapping and analysis of national and international experiences of quality review and similar forms of systematic follow-up
- contributing to the analysis of legal, organizational, and methodological conditions as well as consequences for IVO's operations
- preparation of written materials, memos, and reports that can serve as decision support for the agency's management.
You will work closely with various professions and functions within the authority. The work is team-based and characterized by a holistic perspective, collaboration, and development – while you are also expected to drive parts of the work independently.
The position is a specific fixed-term employment located in Stockholm.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- an academic university or college degree in political science, social science, social work, law, public health, or other education deemed relevant by the authority
- at least 5 years of documented experience in qualified investigative or analytical work at a government agency
- experience working on investigations commissioned by the government
- investigative, development, or quality work within social services
- analytical or investigative activities at a government agency or equivalent organization
- knowledge of and experience working with quality standards and systematic improvement work at national and international levels
- experience planning, conducting, and compiling complex investigations
- the ability to independently drive investigative assignments, both internally and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- experience writing clear, correct, and well-structured memos, reports, and other decision-making materials
- good ability to orally present and discuss analyses and conclusions before various target groups
- very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

You work in a structured manner, are solution-oriented, and have a good ability to create progress in assignments with many stakeholders.

Workplace Description
The Analysis Department conducts extensive and strategic work to develop a more knowledge-based and accurate supervision. The department is part of the authority's core activities and collaborates closely with supervision and licensing. Currently, over 60 employees work in the department across four units with assignments in analysis, statistics, registers, and information services.
The position is located in one of our analysis units that work on cross-agency assignments. The unit primarily conducts quantitative analysis work within IVO's entire area of responsibility, which includes both health and medical care, dental care, and social services. Examples of tasks within the unit include risk analyses in supervisory work, selection analyses, and compilations of statistics and data.
IVO contributes to safe health and social care. The mission of the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is to contribute to care and social services that are safe, of good quality, and conducted in accordance with laws and other regulations through supervision and licensing.
The authority is characterized by a strong commitment as well as a broad and deep knowledge and understanding of health care and social services in Sweden. IVO is driven by the vision that we have control, that we create learning, and that we make care and social services safer and better. We exist for the care and social service recipients.
The authority has about 800 employees. The supervision work is conducted at six regional departments across the country. The departments for licensing, analysis, planning, and communication, as well as operational support, are located in Stockholm, as is the director general's office.
