Instructor for the Detention Center in Mölndal

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

We are looking for an instructor for the detention center in Mölndal.

With us, you will work on current societal issues that are influenced by what happens in our environment. Issues that concern and engage. We offer a dynamic work environment where continuous improvements and meeting people are in focus.

In a detention unit, people who have received a deportation or expulsion decision and need to be available for enforcement are placed. A person can also be detained if their right to stay in the country or their identity needs to be investigated. The detention center is a closed unit, and operations are conducted around the clock. The work is based on applicable legislation where legal security, dignity, and safety are important.

What does an instructor do?

As an instructor, you are responsible for training all staff within the detention operations in practical aspects of basic conflict management. In addition to basic training, you will also conduct further training, special courses, and advanced modules focusing on higher competence to handle transports, separations, etc. Teaching stress and pressure management and the ability to independently lead exercises are part of the job responsibilities. Besides training, you will also work to some extent with method development. You are expected to plan and follow up on the training.

You will collaborate with another instructor and with other functions in the organization. Your responsibilities also include managing uniforms and staff lockers.

When you do not have other assignments, you will be out in the operations supporting the work to maintain order and security in the department and during transports of detainees. The work is physically demanding to some extent.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and the different conditions of individuals. You are clear and adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient. Furthermore, you are secure, stable, and have good collaboration skills. You take responsibility for your tasks and independently structure your work.

In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.

As an instructor, you are expected to be a role model for the organization. You have a humane view of people, good judgment, and share the values of the Swedish Migration Agency. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
