Description

Ytterbyskolan is Kungälv's largest secondary school with 21 classes.

We work in grade-specific teams to create the best possible conditions for our students. The school also offers special support in a special education group. The student health work begins in the classroom and the team work is based on early collaboration around our students. The special educator has an important role in mapping, driving, and organizing the work around guidance and stimulation, extra adaptations, and special support with great freedom to take their own initiatives and decisions. You will be one of three special educators driving this work with a focus on each team.

The school has a student health team and a safety team aimed at supporting the processes of the teams. With shared knowledge and experiences, we want to create context, continuity, and progression in the student's development and learning. We believe in working together!

In the coming school years, our joint focus will be on developing our accessible learning environment and our extra adaptations in the classrooms. Our overarching focus area is to improve the quality of teaching to reach all students. This is alongside the school undergoing renovations in stages to be new and fresh by 2027.

Responsibilities

As a special educator, you will lead school development in various forms and the pedagogical work at different levels from individual to municipal level as you will be part of Kungälv's special pedagogical network.

You will work with the student health team at the school to develop our student health work.

You will critically and independently identify and analyze difficulties at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You will remove barriers and difficulties in various learning environments and propose decisions for measures.

You will assist in pedagogical mapping and establish action programs for students while contributing to an inclusive environment by finding opportunities and methods within the group.

Through a conscious and structured approach, you create safety, trust, and good relationships among our students, staff, and guardians.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher for secondary school with special education training who wants to be involved and contribute your expertise to the processes at the school.

You are updated on evidence-based research, learning strategies, planning structures, compensatory aids, and their success factors in teaching.

You believe it is important to create good relationships and see opportunities even in challenging situations.
