Guidance & Competence Mölndal is the unit responsible for study and career guidance within all forms of schools in the city: primary school, secondary school, special school, and adult education. The unit belongs to the Education Administration, which also organizes secondary school, special secondary school, adult education, and higher vocational education.

With us, you will be part of a committed and development-oriented operation where collaboration, collegial learning, and continuing education are a natural part of everyday life. Within the unit, there are approximately 32 study and career counselors who regularly meet for joint development, staff meetings, and professional development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a study and career counselor within Guidance & Competence Mölndal, you will work to support students in their decision-making process towards studies in adult education and higher education. You contribute to strengthening the individual's ability to make well-informed decisions regarding studies and future career choices.

The work encompasses the entire guidance chain from the first contact with the student to study planning, eligibility review, and admission. You collaborate closely with administration and school management in the admission process. Guidance takes place through planned conversations, digital meetings, phone hours, and drop-in services.

You will work within adult education alongside six other study and career counselors. The position involves working at two workplaces, Campus Mölndal and Guidance & Competence Mölndal, depending on the day and assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained study and career counselor and who has an engaged, clear, and professional approach in meeting with students. You have good knowledge of conversational methodology and the ability to motivate, inspire, and challenge individuals to broaden their perspectives on studies and the future.

You have experience working in adult education and good knowledge of regulations regarding admission, eligibility, and student financial aid. It is an advantage if you have experience with the student registration system Edlevo. You are accustomed to working digitally and have an interest in developing new digital working methods within the guidance role.

As a person, you are flexible, structured, and have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work. You are social, communicative, and relationship-building, with high empathetic ability and a genuine commitment to guiding others. You have a humanistic value base and a holistic view of the individual.

We value collaboration skills and the willingness to be involved in the development of the operation. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
