Description

We are now looking for a teacher in Swedish and English for Göteborg Distans at Montessoriskolan Elyseum 6-9.

Göteborg Distans has permission from the School Inspectorate to conduct distance education as special support. The operation is aimed at students who cannot participate in regular teaching at their home school due to documented medical, psychological, or social issues. As a teacher at Göteborg Distans, you will work with students who have individually tailored plans for schooling and teaching, based on the student's individual needs for support and adjustments. Students who are given the opportunity to be taught remotely retain their regular school placement, and the teaching provided by Göteborg Distans becomes part of the student's action plan.

Responsibilities

The same working methods that occur in regular teaching are, with some variation, also applicable in the teaching that takes place through distance education as special support. The role means that you will have regular direct contact with each student via digital channels. The contact will be needs-based and based on what is outlined in the student's action plan as well as what follow-ups and evaluations of the student's development show. You will also work with student administrative systems such as Vklass and IST.

The teaching at Göteborg Distans focuses on providing students with an individual and adapted education, with the goal of coming as close to regular teaching in school as possible, considering the student's conditions. Distance education means teaching when the teacher and student are separated in both time and space, and this is the completely dominant form of teaching, even though there are elements of in-person teaching when the student and teacher are only separated in space. For certain components in a couple of subjects, in-person teaching is also offered to ensure that, for example, laboratory work in scientific subjects can be conducted safely.

Qualifications

Formal Competencies

We are looking for a certified teacher with the qualification to teach Swedish and English for grades 6-9. It is advantageous if you have several years of experience in the teaching profession, and we wish that you have documented experience in digital work in teaching. A strong interest in digital teaching methods is a prerequisite for the position. It is also advantageous if you have previously worked with student administrative systems such as Vklass or IST.
